In the past 10 years, New Sky Energy has taken root in Thailand by taking advantage of the Belt & Road Initiative, promoted the formulation of Thailand’s waste-to-power industry policy, assisted the Thai government to take waste-to-power-generation as a sustainable green energy development direction, and became a strong industry leader in Thailand.
The first solid waste incineration power generation project in Bangkok (Nongkhaem Project 1), invested and operated by New Sky Energy, was put into operation in 2016. Since then, the company has been integrating green and environmental protection concepts into all aspects of production and operation, actively fulfilling economic, environmental and social responsibilities, and promoting the sustainable development of the project and the surrounding communities. In addition, New Sky Energy has recently started the construction of two large domestic waste incineration power generation projects in Bangkok which will be put into operation in 2026. By then, the company will be able to handle 40% of the daily domestic waste in Bangkok city, and provide green clean electricity for 500,000 families and about 2 million residents at the same time, which is a successful model of China-Thailand co-construction of the Belt & Road.
In the future, we will actively respond to the initiative of building new development concepts of innovation, coordination, green, openness and sharing, and gathering strong synergy for sustainable development proposed by President Xi Jinping, and bring the most advanced concepts, technologies and management to Thailand, deepen cooperation in the “Belt and Road” countries in Southeast Asia, establish a good corporate image of China, and help Southeast Asian countries achieve the dual carbon goals.
